PARIS, France and BURBANK, Calif. — February 27, 2007 — Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE: TMS), through its Technicolor business, announced its contribution towards the motion picture industry’s Academy Awards®. Thomson offered major support toward the nominated films and the winners in the key categories of Best Picture, Best Animated Film, Achievement in Editing, Achievement in Directing, Achievement in Visual Effects and Achievement in Cinematography.

Thomson provided key services to two of the five Best Picture Nominees, including the winner The Departed. Technicolor provided the front end negative processing, HD dailies and digital intermediate (DI) for Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, and front end negative processing, film dailies and DI for director Clint Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima. Technicolor’s industry-leading film processing operation in New York and North Hollywood handled worldwide release printing on these same movies. The Departed marked Martin Scorsese’s first win for Achievement in Directing. The film also received the Oscar for Achievement in Editing, providing Thelma Schoonmaker her second award following her 2006 win for The Aviator, a movie that also benefited from digital intermediate support from Technicolor.

Other major achievements that benefited from Thomson’s wide range of services were reflected in all three Best Animated Films. Technicolor handled release printing on Cars and for the winner Happy Feet. In addition, Technicolor provided digital intermediate color correction on Monster House.

Thomson contributed to all three films nominated for Achievement in Visual Effects: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Poseidon and Superman Returns. Technicolor handled release printing on all three projects; produced a digital intermediate on Superman Returns; and for the winner Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Technicolor North Hollywood provided front-end negative processing, sound services, Digital Cinema mastering and Distribution as well as on DVD compression, authoring, replication and distribution. Thomson’s London-based MPC Facility contributed to Poseidon Visual Effects.

Technicolor also contributed to two of the five films nominated for Achievement in Cinematography: The Black Dahlia and The Prestige. Technicolor provided front-end negative processing, film dailies, worldwide release printing and DVD replication and distribution.
