OZARK, Mo., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SLS International (AMEX:SLS) , a leading provider of premium quality sound systems for professional (recording studio, concert, etc.), cinema and home entertainment markets, announced today that Wehrenberg Theatres, the oldest family-owned theater business in the country, has again selected SLS' Ribbon Driver Cinema Series speakers for installation in each of the auditoriums at the Campbell 16 Cine located in Springfield, Missouri. The new speakers upgrade the digital sound system dramatically. All auditoriums now feature Dolby Digital sound as well.

The speakers' technological advancements clean up distortion, especially at higher ranges. The result is a smoother sound than what educated listeners experience in different theatres or their home systems. Wehrenberg Theatres' Galaxy 14 Cine near St. Louis, MO currently employs the same speaker technology. The company has noticed fewer complaints about high sound volume or distorted sound as a result of the even, crisp sound.

"The higher-level ranges are much better," said Bill Menke, Facilities Director of Wehrenberg Theatres. "Dialog is perfect now, and you still get crystal-clear sound from action films with energetic soundtracks. Movie-goers are more savvy with technology now; they're going to love this experience."

John Gott, Chairman and CEO of SLS Audio, added, "SLS is very pleased Wehrenberg Theatres selected our new Cinema Line of Ribbon Driver Speaker Systems again. We have received many compliments and excellent reviews regarding our system at Wehrenberg's Chesterfield Galaxy 14. Having the Campbell 16 showcase our products will give our hometown movie-goers a superior listening experience beyond what they have grown accustomed to. SLS continues to deliver the sound experience that theater owners seek to attract patrons, which is why our cinema products are increasingly selected by leading theater chains.

"We will also begin our In Theatre branding campaign at the Wehrenberg complexes that have installed our systems. We are currently developing signage that will be placed at the entrances of each theatre and are starting the process of producing on screen film trailers that will be played prior to the start of the feature movies. We expect this brand recognition will carry over into the consumer marketplace as movie goers are shopping at local Best Buy stores and other retailers that will be carrying our products."

In addition to the SLS Ribbon Drivers, state-of-the-art 6-channel Dolby Digital processors and amplifiers have been added to the mix. Sub bass sound has also been reinforced. The overall effect is unlike anything guests have experienced in a movie theatre. Subtle background sounds such as raindrops or breaking glass will be more integrated in the films so guests feel more immersed in the action.

Wehrenberg began installation of the innovative digital sound system April 22, and the project finished May 16. The completed sound system debuted in time for The DaVinci Code, Over the Hedge and X-Men 3.
