ORLANDO, Fla., June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- INFOCOMM -- Panasonic Projector Systems Company, Unit of Panasonic Corporation of North America, announced the introduction of four new DLP(R)(*) projectors today at InfoComm 2006, in Orlando adding to their extensive line of projector systems.

Among the models being introduced are the PT-D5600 and PT-DW5000, which are ideal for classrooms, conference rooms, control rooms and churches, and the new large venue PT-D10000 and PT-DW10000, which build upon the current Panasonic D7000 series projectors. The new D10000 series feature a new, multiple UHM lamp design requiring lower power consumption and increased reliability.

Panasonic's new projectors offer advanced technology that enhance the already high image quality of the DLP chip found in many of its current line of products. Each new unit will further extend Panasonic's ability to provide increased reliability to its diverse customer base.

Each new model includes Panasonic's liquid-cooling system that directly cools the DMD chip, providing the reliability needed for 24/7 operation(1). The cooling system also reduces the number of fans needed, so operating noise is greatly reduced. Additionally, each have a 3D-Color Management System to improve brightness of previous models by 15%, resulting in sharper, cleaner color reproduction. They also include a dustproof design featuring a sealed optical block.

Panasonic is also planning to implement advance warning systems for customers as part of its new premium services through a new remote monitoring capability. This will enable Panasonic to receive status notifications about the status of projectors that reside on a customer's network and provide service recommendations to address issues or repairs.

PT-D10000 & PT-DW10000- Panasonic's new large venue PT-D10000 and PT- DW10000 have a lightweight design to keep a low profile while delivering the features to give high power projection users the reliability they need including multiple lamps that ensure the show can go on. The PT-D10000 includes brightness of 10,000 lumens, S-XGA+ resolution (1400x1050), 4,000:1 contrast ratio, standard DVI input with HDCP, and DLP 10-bit video processing. It follows in the footsteps of the D7000 series giving customers the benefit of improved light output and image processing, and the ability to make use of the same lenses and optical input modules as the D7000 series. It offers high contrast ratios by applying Panasonic's exclusive dynamic iris and advanced image processing for cinema, video and computer-generated picture presentation. Additionally, the adoption of the new PJLink standard Ethernet control protocol ensures customers easy integration with other manufacturer's control interfaces. PT-D5600- The new PT-D5600 is a 1-chip DLP projector that provides bright, high quality image projection for large spaces and delivers stable performance over extended periods of time. It includes a dual lamp optical system to achieve brightness of 5,000 lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. It also offers powerful sensing to monitor performance and leverages Panasonic's Vivid Color Control to deliver high quality images. The screen size is 50-600 inches and it weighs in at 32 pounds when the supplied power/focus zoom lens is attached. Its panel size is 0.7" diagonal and its resolution is 1024x768 pixels (1600x1200 pixels compatible, compression mode). PT-DW5000- Similar to the PT-D5600, this 1-chip DLP-based projector has a high contrast ratio of 2000:1 and Vivid Color Control based on Panasonic's control technology and 3D color management system. It differs from the PT-D5600 in brightness and resolution, delivering 4,500 lumens of brightness, and a resolution of 1280x768 pixels (1600x1200 pixels compatible, compression mode). Its panel size is 0.65" diagonal. The PT-DW5000 offers the same reliability and protection though its dual lamp system and liquid cooling system that enable efficient operation and use in a variety of environments.
