SAN JOSE, Calif. — May 8, 2007 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that it is teaming with Vancouver Film School and Intel on Reel Ideas Studio, a global program to bring together student and professional filmmakers during the 60th Annual Cannes Film Festival taking place May 16 to 27 in Cannes, France. The Reel Ideas Studio program features two documentary film competitions and an online community at reelideasstudio.com , where participants and winners will be highlighted.

We invite everyone to participate in the competition and log on to Reel Ideas Studio to view the amazing talent of these emerging filmmakers.”
Vancouver Film School and Adobe will be holding an online documentary film competition recognizing the best three-to-five minute short subject films created as part of the Reel Ideas Studio Online Community. Films will focus on topics concerning the local regions of the teams. The deadline to register a complete team is May 16 and all documentaries must be posted to the reelideasstudio.com site in Adobe Flash video by 4:00 p.m. GMT on May 23.
Additionally, Intel and Adobe are co-sponsoring the American Pavilion Student Filmmaker Program and Competition onsite in Cannes. Forty students from more than 30 film schools in North America, the United Kingdom, Asia and South America will be divided into 10 collaborative teams and paired with mentors to create engaging documentaries on their experiences at Cannes for the competition. The mentors include professional filmmakers from Original City Pictures and Ontour Pictures and faculty from California College of the Arts; Royal College of Art, London; University of Southern California and Vancouver Film School. Partners Lenovo and Sony will be providing laptops and camera equipment to the student teams.

Individuals entering either or both competitions will be able to share their progress and collaborate with their virtual teams on their documentaries with the Reel Ideas Studio online community at reelideasstudio.com . Filmmakers can upload clips via the site, as well as access files submitted by other individual contributors, including clips, animations, sounds, images and logos. Vancouver Film School’s Digital Design Program provided the expertise of faculty, alumni and students to create the Reel Ideas Studio online community.

Winners Announced and Screened During Reel Ideas Studio Awards in Cannes
The winning entries from both competitions will be recognized and their documentaries will be screened at the Reel Ideas Studio Awards on May 24 in the American Pavilion during the film festival. Writer and producer Christopher Coppola of Plaster City, Dan Birman, professor of journalism at University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication, and two-time Oscar-winning documentary producer Robert Epstein will judge all entries in the community and onsite Cannes student competitions.
Awards include: a Jury Selection Winner and Documentaries of Distinction for both onsite and online community documentaries. The Jury Selection Winners will be invited to compete in PAH-Fest 2007 in Grants, New Mexico. Adobe also will present two People’s Choice awards for the most visited online team site and most viewed team documentary. Winners of the online community competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to next year’s Cannes Film Festival. All student documentaries will automatically be entered into the 2008 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, a global student competition. Additional prizes include internships and Adobe software.
