At the 2005 Canon Expo in New York City, Canon announced this week their first high defintion camcorder the XL H1. At resfest|2005 in Tribeca, Canon brought one of the first models of the new camera for us to play around with. The XL H1 features 1080 lines of resoluition, with 60 interlaced frames per second. The camcorder ships with a 20x lens. It does not have a true 24 frames progressive mode. It offers instead an interlaced 1080i version of 24p. List price $8,999 and ships in November.
