SEATTLE, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Think of it like enjoying a mini Seattle International Film Festival from the comfort and convenience of your own home.

Starting today and running through January 31, Comcast and The Seattle International Film Festival announced that seven films, culled from 2003-2005 SIFF festivals and one from the 2004 New York International Independent Film Festival will be available ON DEMAND free to Comcast Digital Cable customers living in Washington state. Comcast ON DEMAND offers customers access to a growing library of more than 3,800 programs, including hundreds of movies, available anytime customers want to watch them -- with the ability to fast forward, rewind and pause selections.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to promote SIFF by making some really interesting and compelling films available ON DEMAND," said Tom Pierce, VP of Marketing and Sales for Comcast. "With nearly 100 million ON DEMAND programs viewed in Washington and more than one billion programs viewed nationwide over the last 10 months, it is clear ON DEMAND is transforming the way people watch TV and that this is the perfect venue for promoting cutting edge film making."

Among the selections are: "Walking Past," a two-minute photo collage set to music; "Inheritance," a locally-produced, full-length supernatural thriller about a woman who struggles to retain control of her mind and body; "Customer 152," about a man struggling with credit card debt; and, "A Stolen Moment," about a world that has fallen victim to viruses and diseases where there is no human touch, eye contact or socialization.

Other Independent film selections from the Seattle International Film Festival that are available today ON DEMAND include: "Myron," about a man who in one day, falls in love and is run over by a truck and killed; "Recharge," a story of a middle-aged battery tester; "The Battle for Arthur," a story of a grumpy fish store owner tricked into selling his favorite fish; and, "All Fall Down," a short film whose main character asks her mom: "if one of us could live, who would you pick?"

"The Seattle International Film Festival is excited about this new opportunity for audiences to experience the festival in a completely different way," said Gary Tucker, SIFF Director of Marketing & Development. "Comcast has been wonderfully generous in its support of the festival. It means so much to us that our partners at Comcast have created, with this unique new showcase for filmmakers, a year-round relationship with SIFF."

Comcast Digital Cable customers can find these independent films by selecting MENU, ON DEMAND, GET LOCAL and SEATTLE INT'L FILM FESTIVAL or by selecting FREE MOVIES!, SEATTLE INT'L FILM FESTIVAL in the ON DEMAND menu.

ON DEMAND offers Comcast Digital Cable customers the ability to choose from movies, music, sports, news, instructional and entertainment programming and more. Viewers can store movie selections for at least 24 hours from the time of ordering, so they can watch those selections whenever and however often they like. An interactive, on-screen programming guide makes selecting from the library of ON DEMAND content quick and easy.
