KUTZTOWN, Pa., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Four talented filmmakers will compete for a $10,000 grand prize next month when the Haydenfilms Online Film Festival, in conjunction with Bside Entertainment, presents Haydenfilms 2.0 Film Festival Awards. The grand prize winner will be announced at the gala event, held at New York's Directors Guild Theatre on January 11, 2007.
"We are pleased with the success we have seen with Season Two," says Hayden Craddolph, Founder and President of Haydenfilms, LLC. "Our entries nearly doubled from Season One, and the quality of the films submitted by all of our entrants - particularly our finalists - created a very close competition."
Season Two finalists are: "Facing East" submitted by Dana Palmer; "Photograph" submitted by Sarah Lambert; "The Powder Puff Principle" by John Burgess; and "The Rebel" by Josef Wladyka. While one winner will take home the grand prize check, sponsored by Z-Coil, the other finalists will receive prize packages contributed by Write Brothers and Adobe.
"As a professional in the industry, I was blown away by the high quality of films that were entered into the Haydenfilms competition," adds Dr. J.R. (Doc) Ogden, Professor of Marketing and CEO of the Doctors Ogden Group, LLC. "Judging by the jump in traffic over the last year, I was not alone. The word is out."
Finalists for the festival submitted short films - none longer than 35 minutes - that were reviewed by a panel of 10 film industry experts who selected this season's 50 best entries from nearly 200 submissions. Top films were showcased on Haydenfilms.com, where member votes determined the final four. Top films will be showcased at Haydenfilms.com through August 29, 2007.
