WHO: Political satirist and novelist Christopher Buckley; Court TV News anchor Jack Ford; Good Morning America news anchor, Primetime Live co-anchor, and ABC News senior legal correspondent Christopher Cuomo; celebrity criminal defense attorney Benjamin Brafman; America’s chief Nazi hunter Eli Rosenbaum; Fordham Law School professor and critically-acclaimed author and essayist Thane Rosenbaum; and other notable writers, lawyers, judges, journalists and professors.
WHAT: The First Annual Fordham Law Film Festival is a collection of feature films that address important legal issues, opening with “Thank You for Smoking” and a discussion with Christopher Buckley, who wrote the book that inspired the film. All screenings will be followed by discussions led by noted artists and legal experts.
WHY: Fordham Law’s Forum on Law, Culture, & Society is hosting the event to provide a unique forum for New Yorkers to discuss the ways in which the arts examine and illuminate legal issues in a style reminiscent of old New York film festivals.
WHEN: October 20 – 26, 2006.
WHERE: The Festival will be held in New York at three Lincoln Center locations: the James B.M. McNally Amphitheatre at Fordham Law School (140 W. 62nd St.), John Jay College of Criminal Justice (899 10th Ave.), and the Makor/Steinhardt Center (35 W. 67th St.).

Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.: “12 Angry Men” at McNally, with Boyd Gaines and Peter Friedman, Tony-nominated actors who starred in the recent Broadway production of 12 Angry Men.
Sunday, October 22, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.: “The Accused” at McNally, with Joel Seidemann, Manhattan assistant district attorney and author; Deborah Denno, Professor of Law at Fordham Law School; and Rosyln Myers, writer and editor for Crime Victims Report and an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School.
Monday, October 23, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.: “A Civil Action,” at John Jay, with Jack Ford, Court TV News anchor; the Honorable Denny Chin, Federal District Court Judge; and Mathew Diller, Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Fordham Law School.
