SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Raymond W. Syufy, Chairman of Century Theatres and CineArts Theatres together with Joseph Syufy, Vice Chairman, today announced several key executive promotions including the elevation of David Shesgreen to President and Chief Executive Officer. Shesgreen is a 29-year veteran of the successful theater circuit.

In a statement released today, Raymond Syufy noted, "It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of David Shesgreen to the position of Chief Executive Officer. David has been a key member of our management team for almost 30 years, and has worked in or overseen virtually every department in the company. It is fitting that we now formalize and acknowledge David's leadership role within the company."

Shesgreen began his exhibition career at Pacific Theatres in Los Angeles. His first position at Century was as a Film Buyer and was named Head Film Buyer in 1980. In 1996, he was named Executive Vice President of Programming and Corporate Development. With the company in full expansion mode, Shesgreen was named Chief Operating Officer in 1998, then President in 2003.

Several other key promotions were announced today as well.

Victor Castillo, who has served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer will now fill the role of Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his current responsibilities, he will now oversee the Operations Division.

Andrew McCullough will continue to serve as the company's General Counsel, but with his promotion to Executive Vice President of Business Affairs, he will be broadening his responsibilities by adding the Marketing Division to his group, which already includes Loss Prevention and the Human Resources Division.

In addition, three individuals were promoted to the level of Senior Vice President; Christi Reddy, SVP Human Resources, Elizabeth Puccinelli, SVP Corporate Development and Pat Hager, SVP and Controller.
